There was a lot of excitement and fun recently at the Susanna Wesley Preschool in Camanchaj. New socks! New Shoes! As the school year neared an end, each child at the school received a new pair of socks and a new pair of shoes. These were provided through generous donors and supporters.
The Susanna Wesley Preschool has recently completed its first year. The school provides a jump start for children who will soon be entering the public school system. Many of the children that attend the school only speak K’iché. However, the public schools are all taught in Spanish. The preschool has teachers that speak both Spanish and K’iché. Project Salud y Paz is hopeful that students from the preschool will be some of the best and brightest as they enter the public school system. Hopefully, this will translate into children staying in school longer and raising themselves up out of poverty.
