Eagle scout helps keep Guatemalans healthy!

Share

We are so grateful to Peter Stabenfeldt from Old North United Methodist Church for making Mission Guatemala the focus of his Eagle Scout project.  After many weeks of hard work, Peter was able to assemble health kits which will provide items to families to help keep them a bit healthier in the days ahead.  Items like soap and toothpaste are very expensive for people to buy.

Peter was able to solicit donations and assemble over 75 health kits which we will distribute to people in need.  The health kits contain:

* 2 toothbrushes
* 2 tubes of toothpaste
* dental floss
* deodorant
* 2 bars of soap
* towels
* comb
* lip balm

Just having soap available to wash their hands with will help prevent disease from spreading through many families!

Peter also raised the money to cover the cost of shipping the kits to Guatemala.  Great work Peter!  Your hard work will make a huge difference in the lives of the extremely poor in San Andrés, Guatemala.
