Activity Day With Our Scholarship Students

And now for the promised photos from the activity day that the team from Advent United Methodist Church hosted for our "Becas con Mision" scholarship program students!

The event, which took place at Mission Guatemala's River House, included games, food, and time for the team members to get to know each student in our scholarship program. The students enjoyed a morning snack before the festivities began, and also shared an amazing lunch prepared by River House cooks Delia and Lorenzo!

Advent UMC have long supported Mission Guatemala's scholarship program, and each team they've sent in the past few years has started their week with us by hosting similar events for these students.

Mission Guatemala's “Becas Con Misíon” scholarship program covers education costs including inscription, tuition, school supplies and uniforms, in addition to providing free access to Mission Guatemala's medical clinic. The students are selected for the scholarship based both on economic need as well as their grades from elementary school, and, after acceptance into the program–and provided that they maintain a 75% average each semester–students have the opportunity to continue receiving the scholarship through both middle school and high school!
