Living out our love for God and for our neighbor, Mission Guatemala exists to provide respectful and equitable access to healthcare, nutrition, education and community development initiatives in San Andrés Semetabaj and beyond.
Our Vision:
As a long-term member of the local community, Mission Guatemala endeavors to ease suffering and improve the quality of life for our neighbors in Guatemala. Working together to identify needs and utilizing every resource at our disposal to find respectful and effective solutions, we create a future filled with hope, healing and empowerment for all.
Our Values:
- We believe in the sacred worth of every person.
- We believe that each person is created in God’s image and is equally worthy of love, respect and care.
- We believe that access to quality healthcare, nutrition and education are basic human rights and should be available to all, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, economic status, sexual orientation or geographic location.
- We believe that each of us, as God’s children and members of the human family, has a responsibility to recognize and fight against the systemic injustices that limit access to vital services for many of our friends, neighbors, sisters and brothers.
- We believe that love for God is inseparable from love for our fellow human beings, and as an expression of this, we stand in solidarity with each of those who face discrimination, exclusion, impoverishment or violence.
