Celebrating 9 Years of Mission Guatemala!

As we celebrate the 9th Anniversary of Mission Guatemala, we are overcome with thanksgiving for all that has been! When Tom Heaton signed the lease on the clinic property back in 2010, there was no way to know what would happen over these nine years. But, with a faithful step into the unknown, Mission Guatemala was born! And with your support, Mission Guatemala continues to grow!

Because of your support and service in our 9th year, Mission Guatemala continues to provide quality, loving medical care–with laboratory testing on-site–to the people of San Andrés and beyond. So far this year, more than 3,248 patients have been seen in our clinic, with 3,571 different tests run in the laboratory!

Through our nutrition programs, over 21,000 meals have been served at the “Escuela Kikoten” elementary school in San Andrés, and 145 young children from 8 different communities receive the Chipuditos nutritional supplement each day as part of our “Niños Chispudos” (Kids with a Spark) early childhood nutritional program.

In our "Becas con Misión" middle and high school scholarship program, 74 students from 17 communities across the San Andrés area are now able to continue their education beyond the elementary level!

We were also overjoyed to spend time with many of you serving here in Guatemala! So far this year, 359 volunteers from 28 teams have worked alongside us on six different community projects!

Finally, the greatest celebration in our 9th year is that because of your overwhelming response to our "Home is Where Our Heart Is" Campaign, we have secured the funds for the initial payment on the clinic property! The first payment of $200,908 was made on September 4th!

As we look back on this year and say "thanks," we also look to the future and say "yes" to all that is to come! And we ask you to say "yes" with us!

We are confident that with your continued support, we will secure the remaining funds for the purchase of the clinic property! We look to the future with much excitement for all that lies ahead, as we establish deep and lasting roots in San Andrés Semetabaj, thanks to having this permanent space!

As we take a look back on the past 9 years, we are deeply grateful to each person who has been a part of our journey!

Let's continue to do all the good we can together!

Por todo que ha sido, ¡gracias! Por todo que será, ¡sí!
For all that has been, thank you! For all that will be, yes!
